Thought TG was great, but depressingly low on analog content other
than the backline's little nosiemakers. Chris was using Ableton Live
on his macbook and occasionally messing with a little midi controller
and a couple of palm-sized shriekers.

Well, at least they were using some little things.  I just wished I
could have seen them back in their casio phase.  Wonder if any of
those palm sized shriekers you spoke of could be a ds-10?  Or maybe
stylophone through efx?

Couldn't see from my angle (was at the SF show), but according to Carter's Flickr Photostream, he at least has a few BugBrand Postcard Weevils (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chris_carter_/3257798530/). The use logic chips, but they're analog alright.

This was the gear for the Brooklyn show: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chris_carter_/3449449295/. Weevil there.

Sleazy had a Weevil himself too I think, sounded like one alright. He smooshed it on his head at one point ;)

Re Palm-sized shriekers:  Chris Carter has some of Tom Bugs little beauties:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/chris_carter_/3257798530/
The photo shows two pocket weevils and a WorkshopOSCMachine, displayed as
one continous capacitance keyboard.  I am looking forward to the WOM kit
Tom's sending.  A new batch will be out in a few months. Read about them
here:  http://www.bugbrand.co.uk/  I've used a weevil in live pa here in
Victoria a couple of times as my main synth, with a crackle box for the
higher "lines"  and some buddha boxes for underwash, all patched into a korg
se-500.  Weevils with subwoofers.  Lorne in Canada
